African American Studies: Using Google Scholar

Search Google Scholar

What is Google Scholar?

1. Google Scholar is a scholarly database developed by Google with the same interface as a Google search.

2. With Google Scholar, you can search for books, journal articles, patents, and court documents all in one place.

3. Google Scholar is multi-disciplinary so you can use it for all kinds of research.

Google vs. Google Scholar

1. Google Scholar takes you to the most scholarly sources related to your search.

2. Google Scholar links to full text sources in OSU's collection; Google doesn't.

3. Google Scholar ranks the items that your search retrieves based on their scholarship. Google retrieves any webpage with your words on it.
