What am I Searching?

Our new search allows you to search many different resources, including:

  • Everything from the OSU Libraries' Catalog: books, e-books, video, maps, scores, government documents, special collections, journals, magazines, newspapers and more.
  • Full-text articles from more than 100,000 journals. For more article content see, Databases A-Z.

Example Searches

"sustainable development" 
As a phrase using quotation marks in the Basic Search, searching for resources in all formats

vaccinat*
In Journals using * for a wildcard search for vaccination, vaccinate, etc.

william faulkner
In the author field in the Basic or Advanced search under Books and Media

(immunization OR vaccination) legislation 
In Basic Search under Everything using a Boolean OR. Boolean operators -- AND, OR, NOT -- must be CAPITALIZED. Otherwise the terms are included in the search. In the Advanced Search, the Boolean operators are in the drop down boxes.
