Women's Archives Endowment

The Women's Archives Endowment was established in September 1997 through the generosity of an anonymous donor. A recently completed challenge grant from this same donor helped raise over $250,000 for the Endowment and a related work scholarship in the Women's Archives. The Women's Archives Endowment supports the costs associated with acquiring, processing, preserving and promoting materials for the Women's Archives. Gifts to the Women's Archives are tax deductable and may be made payable to the "Oklahoma State University Foundation" by check or major credit card. Gifts may be sent to: OSU Foundation, PO Box 1749, Stillwater, OK 74076-1749 or via the OSU Foundation website by clicking on "Give Now."

To Donate Gifts of Materials

The Women's Archives welcomes gifts that reflect women's interests, activities and intellectual pursuits. Gifts may be from any time period including territorial and early statehood days, the Depression and World War II, up to the present.
Of particular interest are materials that document Oklahoma women's experiences during the Dust Bowl.

In addition to long-term care of your items, your gift will be recognized by the inclusion of your name in records that can be searched in the OSU Library Catalog.

Gifts may include, but are not limited to: letters and correspondence, photographs, diaries, school mementos, reminiscences, scrapbooks, audio and video recordings, interviews, manuscripts, research notes and business or work-related materials. Please contact SCUA staff if you have materials you wish to donate.

About the Women's Archives

The Women's Archives at Oklahoma State University serves as a central information source about women associated with Oklahoma. Its goal is to preserve the contributions women make to family and community, science and culture, as well as business and government.

Use the drop down menu on the Women's Archives tab above to view our major women's collections.

See also these relevant oral history collections from the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program: Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame, Dust. Drought and Dreams Gone Dry and Women of the Oklahoma Legislature.

To Use the Women's Archives

The OSU Library invites you to use the Women's Archives. Scholars, students, historians, journalists and researchers from a variety of disciplines use these unique materials. Groups throughout the state also use the Archives as the basis for programs and exhibits that celebrate women's achievements.

Collections in the Women's Archives have catalog records--complete with keyword and subject references--that are searchable in the OSU Library Catalog.
