Holdings on Alma

Main Holdings

1. Make sure that the 852 is coded 1 0

2. The library should be Main, and the location should match what the item is, e.g. Book, Media, etc.3. 

3. The call number goes in delimiter h ($h), and the cutter and subsequent dates/enumeration go into individual delimiter i ($i)

 

Archives Holdings with Dewey Numbers

1. Make sure that the 852 is coded 10

2. The library should be Scua, and the location will need to match the collection. E.g.: SpecColl, OSU, Rare Books.

3. The Dewey will go in the delimiter h, and the cutters in their delimiter I

Archives Holdings without Dewey Numbers

1. The 852 should be coded 80

2. The library should be Scua, and the location should match the collection. E.g.: SpecColl, OSU, Rare Books, etc.

  • There are, of course, exceptions. Some collections go straight to the Lab, some go to the Annex. They should be coded to match. 

3. The collection number should be in the delimiter h, and the T# in the delimiter i.
