Ideally selected applicants will be contacted via email for a brief phone interview. If that goes well with the hiring supervisor they will have the opportunity to schedule an in person interview with them. I recommend having a second person scheduled to sit in on the in person interview and help with the decision. If you can have a list of possible time slots that work for you and your second, then it is easier to schedule the second interview while the candidate is on the phone. If not, let them know that you will follow up via email so that the candidate will be actively watching for communication from you.
