Going Green (Screen)

Blake Schaich, TV Producer and Director for ITLE, helped participants expand their video editing capabilities. Schaich gave an overview with basic tips on shooting video on a green screen. Using a technique called chroma keying, participants edited provided green screen footage in Adobe Premiere.

Our outdoor telescope demonstration returned with a spring evening viewing of Jupiter and four of its moons. Students stopped by the Beverly Clerico Plaza between 8 p.m and 10 p.m. to take a look through one of the five telescopes that were on display. The telescopes are available for three-day checkout at the Tech to-go Desk.

At this Tech Tuesday @ 2: “The Pen Tool and Nothing but the Pen Tool,” Kaitlin Little, graphic design intern for the OSU Libraries, demonstrated the basic functions of one of the most powerful tools in Adobe Creative Cloud software.
One lucky student attendee won a Wacom Bamboo Slate.
#360 Makes the World Go Round

Nina Thornton, multimedia producer for the OSU Libraries, reviewed the LG360 camera and how to edit 360 footage using Adobe Premiere. The 360 cameras are available for three-day checkout at the Tech to-go Desk, and Premiere is install in both the Mac and Windows Creative Studios.
This month's winner of the student prize drawing took home a LG 360 camera.
Photograph Basics

"Photography Basics” was presented by OSU Photographer Gary Lawson. In this session Gary touches on key concepts of photography that are relevant no matter what equipment you use.

Juliana Nykolaiszyn, Oral History Librarian, and her intern Iris discuss the podcasting, audio editing and Digital Music Upgrade provided by Jim and Liz Wise. The Oklahoma ORal History Program at the OSU Library produce a monthly podcast, "Amplified Oklahoma."
Each Tech Tuesday @2 features a great tech-related prize. This month's drawing winner took home a pair of Beats headphones.

In April 2016, Tech Tuesday dived into 3D modeling and printing. The Edmon Low Creative Studios are home to three MakerBot Replicator 3D printers and one MakerBot Z18 for large format projects. Library technology specialist Shannon Austin covered the basics needed to start printing in the studios.

Attendees each created their own video montage using clips provided for the session. Got GoPro?

Nina Thornton, Library multimedia producer, presented “Got GoPros?” on Sept. 1.
“We’re starting the series with GoPros because we check them out at the Tech to Go Desk and students love them,” Thornton said. “The GoPros are small, hard to break and provide professional quality video.”
The Library currently has 10 GoPro cameras available for students to check out for three days at a time. This “Tech Tuesday at 2” will showcase ways to maximize the GoPro experience.
One lucky student in attendance will go home with a GoPro 4 Silver. All participants are eligible to receive other technology-related door prizes.
