Family Study Room
Many OSU students and employees are also parents of young children, which can present a challenge when studying and using the library resources. Edmon Low Library is happy to offer a dual-use Lactation Space and Family Study Room. This space provides OSU students and employees a private room to pump or breastfeed a baby and a safe and comfortable space for caregivers to study with their young children.
The room is located on the west side of the 1st floor, next to the Women's restroom. The room is locked at all times. The key to the room can be checked out at the Circulation & Information Desk on the 1st floor of the Library. The room is available anytime that the library is open.
The space includes:

- children’s books
- floor seating for children
- small table and chairs for children
- manual sink
- comfortable chair
- mirror
- white noise machine
- coat rack
- sanitizing wipes
How to Reserve the Family Study Room
For OSU Students, Faculty and Staff
The Family Study Room can be reserved online at the following page:
- Current students, faculty and staff can make reservations at the link above or by contacting the Circulation Desk.
- The key must be checked out from and returned to the 1st floor Library Circulation Desk.
- A billing fee will be charged for any unreturned, lost, or damaged keys or items. In addition to this fee, you will be responsible for the cost of replacing the damaged or lost item.
- There is no limit on how many reservations can be made at one time.

Family Study Room Guidelines
- Current OSU student and employee caregivers with children are eligible to use the room.
- A child must be present at the time of key checkout and caregivers must have their children present in the family study room.
- Caregivers are responsible for their children's safety and behavior.
- Children may not be left alone in the room for any reason at any time. Library staff cannot oversee unescorted or unsupervised children, nor be responsible for their safety.
- Users must clean up after themselves and their family members, including re-shelving toys and books and returning furniture to its original location.
- Dispose of all trash in designated trash cans, wipe tabletops, and alert library staff promptly if something is amiss. Disinfectant wipes are available in the sink cabinet.
- Room can be booked for up to 4 hours.
- Reservations will be held for 15 minutes after reservation begins. At that time, the room may be reassigned. Please call the Circulation Desk at 405-744-9741 if you are running late.
- Vacate the study room 30 minutes before the library closes.
- A baby changing table is located in the women's restroom directly to the north of the Lactation Space.
Lactation Space Guidelines
- The Lactation space may be used by OSU students and employees who need a space to pump or breastfeed a child.
- Visitors are also allowed to use this space.
- User must make sure that they leave the room in good condition and return the key to the Circulation Desk. Disinfectant wipes are available in the sink cabinet.
- The room can be booked for up to 1 hour for the purposes of lactation
- Other lactation spaces are also available on the OSU Stillwater campus.
