Fact-Checking - Questions
When you see posts or news that make you feel angry or upset, what are some ways to step back and think critically about them?
Should everyone be able to fact-check information online, or should we rely only on experts? What are the pros and cons of each approach?
Should social media companies like Instagram and TikTok take down false information? How can they do this while still letting people express their opinions freely?
As false information becomes harder to spot (like with AI-generated content), how can we adapt our fact-checking techniques to keep up?
What role should government agencies play in supporting or regulating fact-checking initiatives?
How do companies' business goals and their algorithms (like Google's search results or TikTok's 'For You' feed) affect what information we see online?
