Introduction
Military Memoirs Writing Workshop
Cost: Free to participants. This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) which provided a grant being administered by Libraries & Veterans National Forum at Texas A&M University.
Who: Beginner and experienced writers, child or adult, are invited to participate in this progressive workshop series that is open to veterans, active-duty military and their family members.
What: Have a story to tell? Want to write a story, or express something through writing? Whether you're new to writing, wanting to publish something, or have been published already, then this workshop is for you. The objective will be for participants to leave more confident in their writing, with the opportunity to learn more about revising, proofing, peer reviewing, and publishing in order to share their stories.
What Else: Participants will be able to visit writing specialists from the OSU Writing Center to get help expressing themselves through writing — whether through poetry, free writing, nonfiction, or fiction. Specialists in various genres and techniques will be available to answer questions and provide guidance through this project.
When: Saturday, March 5th and April 2nd, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
*Interactive workshops and consultant meetings will take place during both March and April meetings.
Where: Stillwater Public Library, 1107 S Duck St, Stillwater, OK 74074 (Room 119)
How: Hybrid (Both remaining workshop will be highly interactive, so there will a limited number of virtual attendees accepted)
