New Student Employee Guide
Welcome to your new job at the OSU Library!
Before your first day of work, you will need to:
- Sign your job acceptance letter provided by your supervisor and take it to Jamie Autry in Edmon Low Library room 216
- Fill out the GTA/GRA Tuition Waiver Contract online located at http://gradcollege.okstate.edu/FormsPage and forward the email receipt to jamie.autry@okstate.edu
- If this form is not filled out and submitted BEFORE the first day of the SEMESTER, you will not receive a tuition waiver.
To sign up for payroll, you will need the following documents:

IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
PAY
Payday is the last working day of the month. Ask your supervisor when your first check will be distributed.
READ YOUR PAYROLL ADVICE. It arrives via campus e-mail with the gross and net pay amounts, banking or distribution information, rate and hours worked.
If you need to make a change to your banking information, go to Banner Self-Service. Review instructions here. Questions? Email payroll.services@okstate.edu
If there are discrepancies in your pay or you don't receive a Payroll Advice, contact the Dean's Office for help.
Evaluation is conducted formally by your supervisor once a year. You will receive informal evaluations throughout the year in the form of instruction, feedback, etc.

PROFESSIONALISM
Cell phones and electronic devices for PERSONAL USE are generally not allowed. Speak with your supervisor about your department rules.
Work is not a good time for your friends to come by for a personal visit.
WORK YOUR SET SCHEDULE. If you are late or will miss work, contact your supervisor prior to your shift.
DRESS FOR THE JOB. If you're on your feet, wear appropriate shoes. For outdoor jobs, keep the weather in mind. Office and customer service positions should opt for appropriate attire. Never wear t-shirts with inappropriate language or pictures, dirty, stained or ripped clothing, or sleeping clothes.

LATE OR MISSING WORK?
Call your Supervisor. Make sure you have his/her direct phone number. Some supervisors allow you to text. Ask about the best way to make contact.

Call your Supervisor. Report any injuries immediately, even if it seems minor.
APPLYING FOR LIBRARY SCHOLARSHIPS?
The application period is in March. Watch your email, and check with your supervisor for details.
LEAVING LATE AT NIGHT?
Call OSU Police and Safe Walk.

The Library is open late. If you are leaving and want an escort to a campus location, ask! Safe Walk is a free service available 7p to 3a. During other times OSU PD may be available to escort employees.
