What is the OSU Carpentries Group?

OSU is a member organization of The Carpentries. We organize and teach free workshops based on the Library, Software, and Data Carpentry learning materials. We are actively engaged in enhancing the productivity of research across all disciplines on campus. We also maintain a collaboration with the University of Central Oklahoma's Carpentries group to expand our workshop offerings.

What We Do

Our workshops help faculty, staff, and students improve the quality and efficiency of their work by teaching them how to use open-source software tools and computing resources. These workshops engage participants through a combination of theory and hands-on experience. No prior experience is necessary and workshops are taught assuming no prior knowledge.

Workshops are scheduled regularly throughout the fall and spring semesters.
