Interlibrary Services: Renewing Items

How to Renew Interlibrary Loan Items

Interlibrary Loan materials cannot be renewed in the same way as books owned by the OSU Edmon Low Library. Renewals may be requested, but it is up to the lending library whether or not to grant them. To place a request for a renewal please contact the Interlibrary Services office.  This can be done via email, phone, or in person. Renewal requests cannot be placed the day an item is due or if the item is overdue.  It is recommended to request a renewal about one week before the due date.

After placing a request for a renewal, once Interlibrary Services hears back from the lending library, whether they grant the renewal or not, you will be notified via email. However, if you do not receive an email, the item will still be due by the original due date.  You are always welcome to place a new request for the same item.

The Interlibrary Services Office is located in 107 Edmon Low Library, on the first floor of the library, west of the Laptop check-out desk.

Questions may be emailed to lib-ils@okstate.edu or you can call 405-744-6846.

Overdue Interlibrary Services materials will be handled similar to over Recall materials.  The fine for Interlibrary Services materials is $5.00 per day, per item with no grace periods. Interlibrary Services privileges may be suspended when books are not returned by the due date.
