Experts Directory provides a single point of organization, presentation and up-to-date reporting of scholarly activities across Oklahoma State University.
Experts Directory runs on Symplectic Elements, an application which harvests publications and other research activities from major research databases, including Scopus, Dimensions, MLA International Bibliography, PubMed and Crossref, and matches them to researchers at OSU. Individual researcher profiles are automatically created and populated with directory information, teaching activities and grants.
Faculty can make their profile public so it is displayed in the OSU Experts online profile system. Public profiles are highly-ranked in Google search results, receiving an average of 14,000+ monthly clicks globally.

Benefits to Researchers:
Maintaining a consistent form of your name is key in distinguishing your research and publishing from the work of others.
E.g., Always using Henry Zhang, not intermixing H. Zhang and Henry Zhang in different papers.
Unique identifiers like the following help consolidate your publications under one author profile:
Use Oklahoma State University (and your @okstate.edu email) as your affiliation/location for all publishing, journals, or grant agencies. Ensure your research is credited to you and linked to OSU.
The Research Organization Registry (ROR) provides standardized identifiers for research institution. Oklahoma State University's ROR identifier is 01g9vbr38 (note that the OSU system and other campuses have different identifiers)
Where you publish will affect your research visibility (how much it is read, cited, etc.) Our Where Should I Publish My Research guide provides tips on how to select a venue to publish your work.
Using search engine optimization (SEO) principles can help rank your work higher in search results. Try the following strategies:
Deposit Your Published Work
Adding your work to a repository can make it easier to find, which can increase its impact. Many publishers allow you to add a version of your article to a repository, like OSU's Open Research Oklahoma repository. You can also add conference presentation slides and other types of documents.
Deposit Your Data
Consider adding your research data to a repository. This allows other researchers to view and potentially use and cite your data. To learn more about data repositories and data sharing, visit our Managing Research Data guide.
Whether you're in the middle of a research project or have just published an article or a book, you can share and promote your research to connect with a wider audience.
