This is an introductory guide to resources for Native American Studies. Some, but not all, of these are available through the Edmon Low Library, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.

National Native News   Short newscast that airs online;  you can also subscribe to an email that links to the broadcast. 

Major Newspaper Websites

Native Times  (Native American Times, Today's Independent Indian News).  Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Navajo Times  Window Rock, Arizona

Indian Country Today   Indian Country Today Media Network, based in New York City.

Many of the tribes and nations in the U.S.  produce newspapers or at least have a news feature on their website.  This section will be updated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Magazines of Interest

 

Tribal College Journal (Published by the American Indian Higher Education Consortium.   Full text is available from 2000 to present in  Academic Search Premier, Also available from 1989-present in Ethnic NewsWatch.  A good way to see what's happening in our tribal colleges and universities.Also available in print. The library also has bound issues in print, but they have been moved to storage.

Southwest Art  Available from 1998 in ProQuest Research Library.  Library also has print.   Bound issues from earlier years are available on  4th floor.  705 S7275

National Museum of the American Indian  or American Indian.  Some issues available in print in the Government Documents Section.  Ask at the office on 5th floor. FS248 NA36 N277 MU65  This museum has an outstanding website with numerous educational features: NMAI Website

Native Peoples   (Heard Museum) Available online from EBSCO databases Art and Architecture Complete or Master File Premier.  Also available in print.  Current print issues on first floor;  bound  issues on 4th Floor.  973.005 N278
