- Select everything that is OKS-OSU
- In the instance search bar, enter the title
- Click on the search button
2. Select the record for the book in hand, confirming title, author, and date of publication
3. This will open the Instance Record.
Copy Cataloging the Bib/Instance Record
- In the Actions drop-down menu of the Instance record, select "Edit MARC bibliographic record".
- Verify the following information against the book:
- 020 ISBN number
- 082 field: is there a call number
- 1xx field: Author/Conference/Corporate body
- 245 field: Title
- 250 field: Edition statement
- 300 field: enumeration field (page numbers: illustrations/maps, etc.; size)
- If the size is 31cm-40 cm, it is a QUARTO
- If the size is 41cm or higher, it is a FOLIO
- 504 field: is there a bibliography or a list of bibliographical references somewhere in the book
- 6xx field: is the very first 6xx field a 600, 610, or 611? Those will get cuttered differently
- Add a 590 gift note as needed. E.g.: Gift of the Dick Fischer Collection.
- In the last 5xx field, click on the add field plus sign. If it is added in the wrong place on the bib record, the up and down arrows will move the field to the correct location.
- Move on to the call number and cuttering procedures.
