Checkout Information for Devices: MacBooks
All loanable MacBooks from the Circulation Desk are equipped with both hardware and software to ensure patrons are able to use the devices in a wide range of activities, both inside and outside the classroom. Students cannot download applications and programs onto the MacBooks.
Warning! Data Loss! When a student laptop is turned off or loses power, all material not saved to an external drive or backed up to online Cloud storage will be lost! The Edmon Low Library is not responsible for any data lost due to power loss. As such, the library cannot guarantee the amount of battery charge left in each machine. Power cords are available for checkout from the Circulation Desk.
Students have access to Google Drive and OneDrive as options for Cloud Storage.
Each MacBook comes with the following programs:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Adobe Acrobat
- Zotero
- Chrome
- Safari

Checkout Procedure
Late Fees
$20 per day overdue
All students and staff must sign a Statement of Responsibility before checking out any devices. MacBook Airs are available for 1 day or 7 day checkouts. One-day MacBooks are due at midnight or closing the next day. Laptops must be returned directly to the attendant at the device counter at Circulation.
