Individual Journal Subscriptions

As always, we continue to refine our individual subscriptions in light of our users' teaching and research needs. This year, we retained 406 subscriptions and discontinued 45, of which 12 were in print and 33 electronic. Discontinuations include several journals that are available online from other sources and some that have ceased publication or converted to open access. Changes will go into effect in January 2024.

Springer & Nature

This agreement includes access to 1568 titles on the Springer platform and 10 individually selected Nature titles. Our previous agreement, for subscription years 2020-2023, was extended to 2024 with no changes to terms or content. Evaluation will continue throughout 2024 as a new agreement is developed.

Cambridge University Press

Our initial Read and Publish agreement with Cambridge University Press concluded in 2023. We renewed it on similar terms for 2024-2026.

This agreement allows researchers who are affiliated with OSU to publish their articles Open Access in all Cambridge's gold and hybrid journals without any additional cost to the author. To be eligible, articles must:

  • Have a corresponding author who is affiliated with OSU-Stillwater or OSU-Tulsa
  • Be original research – eligible article types are research articles, review articles, rapid communications, brief reports and case reports
  • Be accepted for publication in a Cambridge University Press journal covered by the agreement

In its first three years, this agreement funded the publication of 33 OA articles.

Oxford University Press

Our new agreement for Oxford University Press journals will be in place from 2024 to 2028. While our previous deal was a traditional subscription, the new one is a "read and publish" agreement that allows OSU researchers to publish their articles Open Access in eligible hybrid journals with no additional costs to the author. Note that only hybrid journals--those that publish some articles as OA and others under the traditional subscription model--are included. Fully OA journals are not; however, OSU authors will receive a 10% discount on article processing charges (APCs) in fully OA Oxford titles.

To be eligible, articles must:

  • Have a corresponding author who is affiliated with OSU-Stillwater or OSU-Tulsa
  • Be a research article, review article, brief report, or case report accepted for a regular issue (not a supplement)
  • Be accepted for publication in an Oxford University Press journal covered by the agreement during the years the agreement is active

This spreadsheet lists the journals in this agreement. Those marked "Eligible journal (2024)" allow OSU researchers to publish OA articles without additional charges. (A small number of hybrid journals are excluded.)
