Check-out, Renew, Request: Holds and Recalls

This page describes basic circulation policies. If you have any further questions, please call the Circulation & Information Desk at 405-744-9775.

Holds

Materials requested via Document Delivery, purchase on demand, rush cataloging, or from our North Boomer Annex and Auxiliary will be put "on hold" for you at the Circulation & Information Desk. You will need to bring your OSU Library Card to check these materials out. Items placed on the "hold shelf" will remain at the Circulation Desk for 7 days, and then they will be returned to their permanent location if they are not picked up.

See the links below for more information on:

Recalls

Checked out books can be recalled by another user after 14 days. Books needed for reserve or reference may be recalled any time. When books are recalled, the due date for the item is shortened to 14 days. Once the item has been returned, it will be put on hold for the requester at the circulation desk for 7 days. Circulation privileges may be suspended when recalled books are past due. Fines for late, recalled books are $5/day.

If you wish to recall a book, simply fill out our Book Recall Request form online. We will contact you once the book is returned and it will be put on hold for you at the Circulation & Information Desk.
