Oral History
The Spotlighting Oklahoma Oral History Project was officially launched in 2009 as a
way to document the development of Oklahoma by recording its cultural and intellectual history.

Special Collections and University Archives
Collection contains 78 photographs, 13 handwritten correspondence, Christmas Dinner Menu for
Company "F" 2nd Battalion U.S. Engineers, Vancouver Barracks, Washington, one booklet, " The
Second Division: Syllabi of the histories of regiments and separate organizations, Coblenzer
Volkszeitung, Coblenz, Germany, [G.O 64] Ninth Infantry sheet, pg. 63 (loose sheet of paper).
Most of the photographs feature the 2nd Division Engineers, of which John Hayes White was a
member, and were taken during WWI. The photograph subjects include WWI, the Philippines,
Cuba, and portraits of White as a soldier and later, with his wife.
